Report
After an early start on Friday (yes we did miss school, hurray) we set off for North Wales where we would be staying for the weekend. In general, we were just acting as if it was an ordinary trip but I'm sure the others were crying in the corner of their minds over the weekend ahead of us, I know I was. We arrived at the KMC to a smell of toilet bleach and paint because of some idiot chavs! Almost immediately after dumping our stuff at the lodge we met Anne and walked over to the DMM factory for a free tour, YAY!
The tour wasn't as exciting as I expected. I imagined there to be gear raining from the ceiling and special tubs for us to bathe in gear but all there was were some big smashing machines making carabineers. All I wanted were some free nuts and stuff but nooo. At least everyone else found it really interesting. Then we went shopping but nobody wants to hear about that so I'll skip that bit. After having a joyful meal of Kedgeree we all sat down to an ultimate tournament of "S***head." The fastest card game in the west! Callum lost and tomorrow he is expecting digs.

The day of the competition and we had to get up at minus 17 o' clock in order to get to Liverpool on time. This time there was an obvious state of fear in the car, either that or everyone was asleep. By the time we got to Liverpool the sun was actually beginning to shine. Out of all the people in the competition, Matt had to climb first and this proved to be a major disadvantage. Whilst the rest of us were waiting for our turn to climb we were trying to avoid all the hard people (everyone). Nathan shocked everyone on the first climb by only reaching the third quick draw but the other climbers respected him for having the guts to enter the comp. Then when it was Callum's go, he pulled a Z-clip. After everyone had climbed I thought I had got into the final and I was in shock, thankfully I didn't get into the final. Even though none of us were in the final, competing against such names as: Tom Bodger, Shouting boy, Tom Arnold and the Landmans, we stayed and watched. We were amazed at the true hardness of the climb and the steepness of the wall, it was worse than the Westway. As we left, Callum spotted a skipping climber and he said, "Look Nathan it is Jamie Cassidy" to which he replied, "No it isn't, that is Adrian Baxter." And it was. But the best thing about today was eating at "Pete's Eats café of rock climbers" When we got home we gave Callum his well deserved digs and awarded him with the dummy of the day for Z-clipping and mistaking Jamie for Adrian.

We didn't get up as early today but it still didn't feel right, and it was cold. We packed our stuff and left for Castle Inn. When we got there however it was too cold to even touch the rock but because we are all so hard we climbed it anyway. Nathan forgot to take up enough quick draws, I got lost on a climb, again and nothing else happened.
